  • Member of the Kidney and Acid-base Physiology Group
  • University of Zurich

Dr. Soline Bourgeois studied Physiology at the University Pierre et Marie Curie, Paris, France where she trained in renal physiology and developed skills in ex vivo renal tubule microperfusion with Prof. Michel Paillard and Prof. Pascal Houillier in Centre de Recherche des Cordeliers, Paris. She completed her PhD on the discovery of acid-base transporters in the kidney thick ascending limb in 2005. In 2008, She undertook postdoctoral training in Zurich at the Institute of Physiology of the University of Zurich (Prof. Heini Murer, Prof. Carsten Wagner). There, she specialized in the renal defective mechanisms leading to acid-base disturbances. Since 2013, she has been a senior scientist in the group of Prof. Carsten A. Wagner where she continues her research into acid-base homeostasis.
